Dave and Lillian Brummet

Dave was born and raised in Kelowna, where his father also grew up, and his grandfather was the blacksmith up on Black Mountain.

Dave’s uncle was the former Minister of Environment, Tony Brummet – who lives in Osoyoos now.
Lillian’s parents moved from Vernon to run a small hobby farm out by Kelowna’s airport.

Dave and Lillian met and married 30 years ago in Kelowna, and moved to Grand Forks in 1999 where they lived for 12 years. The home they purchased on 68th was a fixer-upper and the couple worked hard to turn it into an eco-friendly home on a lovely beautiful cottage garden property, set up with auto watering and other water-conservation tools.

Dave’s dad, Frank Brummet, joined them – moving across the street. The year after their property was certified with several butterfly and bee organizations, Lillian’s parents both passed on and they no longer needed to be on hand for them. Frank, Dave and Lillian then moved to Creston in 2010 and have been busily converting their home into the haven they left behind.

Grand Forks is where the Brummet’s started their writing career, with locals such as Brian McAndrew and also Iskra magazine staff, sharing skills and tips for the world of writing as we grew into the career we have now.

Today we run 2 popular blogs that keep Lillian very busy as they both accept articles and poetry submissions and offer author interviews as well.

They have 6 published books (the 7th is no longer in print), the most recent being From One Small Garden – Over 300 Delicious Nutritious Recipes.
