Local Authors’ Book Most Borrowed in 2021
I was pleased to learn that the most borrowed non-fiction book at our local library in 2021 was “The Life and Times of Grand Forks” by local authors Alice and Jim Glanville.
Granted we aren’t a large town with the large collection and membership of a large town but given the borrowing period and the number of loans this book was out in patrons’ hands more than it was on the shelf. That’s pretty good for a non-fiction book.
It also means that this book is in no danger of being culled due to lack of attention from patrons. In case you missed the message: the primary criteria for keeping books is if they get borrowed. That goes for local authors’ books as well so if you want to see a book stay on the shelves of the library – take it out.
