Alice Glanville
Alice Glanville was a force in the community. She was a teacher and main driver behind the Boundary Historical Society.
The Boundary Historical Society has produced 17 ‘Reports’ since the 1950s, collections of stories and anecdotes about the people and life of the Boundary. Alice was a long time board member, sometime President and played a role in the production of a number of the Reports.. On her own she produced a number of history themed books which we still have in the library. A couple of these are among the most sought out and borrowed local history books at the library.
In 2015, after 95 years, Alice passed into local history . . . a celebration of her life was held at the local Gospel Chapel. I was there on behalf of the BHS to record this for posterity.
