2025 CBC Short Story Prize
The 2025 CBC Short Story Prize is now open — submit your new short fiction now!
Winning the CBC Short Story Prize comes with some nice perks.
You could win:
- $6,000 from the Canada Council for the Arts,
- a two-week writing residency at Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity
- and have your work published on CBC Books.
Four finalists will each receive $1,000 from the Canada Council for the Arts and have their work published on CBC Books.
The Prize is open until Fri. Nov. 1 at 4:59 p.m. ET.
The winner of the 2024 CBC Short Story Prize was Kate Gunn for her story Old Bones.
